Beautiful print of the view from St Sunday Crag towards Grisedale Tarn

This was a very special moment. Taken on the decent from St Sunday crag in the English Lake District. The image shows the sun rays breaking through clouds and shining down on Grisdale Tarn whilst being over looked by Fairfield Peak on the left. About 2 hours walk from civilisation, commitment was required to get into this position. It had been a superb day but the wind made conditions very difficult and there was no guarantee when I got into position, the weather would come good. I composed the shot and then waited alone on the mountain as sunset approached. A short time later a break in the cloud occurred and some beautiful golden light started shining down on the rock in the foreground and on the tarn. I captured the image in those brief moments before the hill fog came in thick for the rest of the day. Rich reward for the day’s exploits and a trek home in the dark.
